New M.D. Anderson breast cancer vaccine shows promise

Researchers at Houston-based M.D. Anderson Cancer Center reported promising results from an experimental new breast cancer vaccine.The vaccine, one of many now in testing, significantly decreased the recurrence rate of breast cancer in women who had been treated for a common tumor type, according to a study led by The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the Houston Chronicle reports.The new vaccine triggers the patient's immunity against a tumor protein, known as HER2, present to...
